Help Employers Source & Grow Talent with Apprenticeships

Pipeline Partners

AIR has a robust network of apprenticeship program sponsors who stand ready to hire qualified candidates for their programs. AIR offers ongoing technical assistance, coaching, and a standing library of materials and resources to help our program sponsor partners develop and maintain sustainable apprenticeship programs.

Our pipeline partners are a critical link to ensuring that these programs have the apprentices they need and that qualified individuals—such as our pipeline partners’ participants—have opportunities to take the next step in their careers through apprenticeship programs.

When you become a pipeline partner, AIR will promote your program within our network of organizations that sponsor apprenticeship programs and connect you with opportunities for your participants.

Related Technical Instruction Providers

High-quality apprenticeship programs rely on the participation of trainers and educators. AIR’s network of Related Technical Instruction (RTI) providers includes 2- and 4-year colleges and universities, as well as technical trade schools and private training organizations with strong reputations among tech employers.

RTI providers deliver the related technical instruction required in all registered apprenticeship programs, partnering with employers to align priorities, ultimately creating well-rounded and effective experiences for apprentices. RTI is designed to provide the apprentice with knowledge of the theoretical and technical subjects related to the apprentice’s occupation. A minimum of 144 hours of RTI for each year of the apprenticeship is recommended.

While RTI is different from the on-the-job learning the apprentice does with the employer, it is designed to align with the work experience and on-the-job learning to provide relevancy and practical application of the theoretical and technical instruction. RTI providers may provide traditional classroom learning, may provide RTI at a business or other location, and may be innovative in their delivery of the RTI. Each program will include a curriculum outline in its apprenticeship program standards, outlining the instruction to be provided.
